Last night, Ms. Claire, age 21-months, was charged with three counts of misdemeanor safety violation involving household appliance and two counts of flagrant disregard for parental authority. She was sentenced to 1.5 minutes in the time-out corner, to be served immediately.
Because this is a first offense for Ms. Claire, she was released after serving just over one-third of her sentence. Authorities assure us that she showed what appears to be genuine remorse and was a law-abiding citizen for the rest of the evening.

Only a 1/3 of her sentence? Who is she, Paris Hilton?
Ha! I had told her she had to sit there until the microwave beeped, and I set it for 1-minute, 30-seconds, since they say to do 1-minute per year of age. Well, after 30-seconds, I really got the feeling that she understood what was happening, and the original time I’d set seemed really long.
So I made the microwave beep and let her get up. She actually said she was sorry! (Pretty good for someone who’s not even two yet!)
Granted, Momma isn’t going to be so lenient the third or tenth time she’s in time-out, but I didn’t feel like too much of a sell-out. I mean, this was her very first time in time-out, and I thought it went well!
Hahaha. Claire is such a sweetheart for apologizing. I remember the first and only time they made me sit in a corner. I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe, so they cut it short and gave me ice cream.
Lisa, the *only* time they put you in a corner? You must have been really good or really good at not getting caught.
Hee. Neither. I think they were too scared I’d stop breathing again.
