On Monday evening, I took Claire out to see the iris growing in our backyard. They were still tightly bound into their deep purple tips. “I wonder when they’re going to bloom?” I asked.
The very next morning, I got my answer:

Ooh, may I please have this image for a desktop? I Iris is my favorite, even ahead of rose. I live on a wooded lot, and only get a few (3 – 6) blooms each year. Your picture has my favorite kind, purple with yellow beards.

Oh, I love these! I have purple iris, too, but they haven’t bloomed yet. They need to have a longer shelf life, because they are too pretty only last a few weeks.
I think it’s pretty but I have also thought that they are kind of creepy, too. Lovely purple.
