When I started this blog, I was completely anonymous. You can read about some of my decision to do that by reading this post.
Well, it’s been almost two years since I started this little blog. July 22nd will be the official 2-year mark! Over the last two years, I’ve slowly started lifting the veil of anonymity and if you follow my posts at The Denver Post’s parenting blog, Mile High Mamas, you already know what I look like and my first name!
(The decision to make that leap into the real world was a hard one, but I’m so glad I did! I can’t wait to see what other opportunities are around the corner!)
AND, articles I’ve written have been published in our local YourHub section of the newspaper. I cannot describe to you the thrill of seeing my name in print!

Here is the latest one! You can read the full review (and others!) here.
A lot of people in my real world know that I blog, not to mention the 375+ people who follow me on my personal Facebook account.
This weekend, I took things to another level. I joined some of my blog-to-real-life friends for a meet up in Boulder. I had so much fun! It was awesome putting faces with twitter IDs and blog personalities!
And, they decided to take a video of all the people there! What a great idea! (Holly, thanks!!) Whew, it’s a good thing I’m starting to get used to this whole not-so-anonymous-anymore thing…
See if you recognize anyone!
Here is the link if the above video doesn’t work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK9HRE5MNxY

That’s awesome! So nice to see you “in person” again!
I don’t think you were ever destined for anonymity
You are way too clever and creative. I think this is just the beginning of the adventures of the Casual Perfectionist. I smell movie rights, or a book, or the Nintendo Casual Perfectionist video game (SIMS is SOOO 2008)!
Anonymity is overrated
, though my husband might disagree. It’s hard to put it all out there for me and for him, that’s for sure. Sometimes I wish I’d used my very common maiden name instead of my very uncommon married name. Ah well, hindsight is 20/20.
It’s your Coming Out Day!
What a great afternoon — so glad I got to share it with the woman formerly known as the Unknown Blogger.
Thanks, Joanna! I wish I could see you IRL more often!
Holly, that’s awesome, and you made me laugh!!
Thanks, Rachel! I’m glad I was anonymous at first…it helped me find my footing.
Thanks, Lori! You were the first blogger I met IRL…and I’m glad you’re still not a trucker or a 12-yr old boy.
AND, I forgot to put in the post…Claire was SO EXCITED to see Glenda in the video! HA!
Alas, in that video I look as scared as I felt. So much for my acting skills!
I’m glad you came out of hiding!
It was wonderful meeting you on Saturday, although a little strange that you had seen my wedding pictures before meeting me IRL. Whatever…that’s just how it goes online.
Thanks for the kind words and for letting us know your real name. While a hard decision, I’m confident you made the right choice. (Besides it would’ve been weird for you to walk around the meetup with a big black circle over your face the entire time, right?)
You’re so funny. Love that you included the video!
TheKitchWitch, you did great!
Tara, it was so nice to meet you IRL. I felt like I already knew you. Stalking, er, I mean blogging can be that way.
Thanks, Amber!
Also, here is a link to some photos that Jen (@userealbutter) posted online! http://jenyu.net/photo/2009/06/20/boulderdenver-premeetup/ I LOVE the one where there is a group of us concentrating on our handheld devices.
IRL is just as fun (if not moreso) than online. Great to meetcha on Saturday!
Oh, and there is no such thing as anonymity anymore, so being “out” is better.
I know there is never truly true-anonymity, but I was mainly trying to avoid googleable connections. I didn’t realize how much fun this whole community of bloggers would be IRL. Who knew!?
Man, I really wish I made it on Saturday. Just.Couldn’t.
I know, Jen! It was so much fun! Maybe we’ll see you at another one?
this is awesome!
Thanks, la petite belle!
