Three thousand two hundred and twenty-one what?

Is that the number of items in the laundry we just finished tackling?  Is that the number of stars we could see from the our sleeping bags, through the mesh top of our tent?  Is 3,221 the number of times one of us gasped, “Wow, look at the view!” …or the times we muttered, “How long does Montana take?”

(Just so you know, it isn’t the number of cars we saw in Wyoming.)

Is it how far we thought we could see across the lava fields from the top of a volcano in Idaho? (of all places!)

Is it the number of curves on the scenic highway around Coeur d’Alene?

Is it the number of miles we traveled (not including the miles the ferry zipped our car along on our jaunt to an island just north of Seattle) on our 2-week roadtrip?

Yes.  Yes to all of it.

Stay tuned for more details!

Claire’s Self-Portrait

“Momma,” Claire said. “I’ve always dreamed of having a piece of artwork displayed at the Art Center.”

And now she has!

The above is a self-portrait in oil pastels & watercolor, in the style of Paul Klee. It is on display at the local Art Center for the next week.

We’re so proud of her!
