…it’s gonna be a busy weekend!

I can’t believe the little elf in the above photo is 5 years old now!

However and whatever you celebrate this time of year, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Worth the wait

Not only will the holidays be merry and light, so will the posting here at The Casual Perfectionist, while we spend it entertaining loved ones. I’ll be using this time to showcase some photos I’ve entered in the Cute Kids Contest at The Denver Post.

…and today’s photo is of Claire waiting for Daddy.  This was taken two years ago!

Can’t I open just one?

As all the gifts start to pile up under the tree, I think the Baby Claire in this photo is verbalizing a sentiment on all our minds. ;)

Opening Presents is Exhausting Work

Today, I was looking through some old photos for a photo contest we have running at Mile High Mamas, and I found this. As soon as I heard about this contest, this particular photo popped into my head, and I couldn’t wait to see it again. It is one of my all-time favorite photos.

It may or may not be the wallpaper on my computer monitor as we speak.

General Blogkeeping & a Sneak Peek at a Review of Winter WonderLights

I’ve got a project brewing that requires me to stir it more often than it did before, so I’m going to be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays here at The Casual Perfectionist. I also reserve the right to switch that up at any time, but if you know me, you’ll know the thought of ruining the little pattern this will create on the month of December on the sidebar is enough to make me break out in hives.

In fact, I had this post written yesterday, but I couldn’t bring myself to light-up a random Tuesday on that little calendar.

So, what’s happening today? I’ve got a writing piece featured at Mile High Mamas! It’s a little review I did of Winter WonderLights, at The Wildlife Experience.

Here’s a sneak peek of our adventure:

Claire was so excited to see Santa that this is what her face looked like the whole way there.

On our way to see Santa

I love it so much that I made it my Twitter photo:)

She got to see Santa AND tell him what she wanted in her stocking. He had some good goals for her. I’m expecting a better-than-average month.

This is one of my all-time favorite photos of Claire.  We took this on December 25, 2005.  Three years ago!?  Claire wasn’t even a month old yet, and it was the first time we’d stayed home for the holidays.

When I think of “home for the holidays,” this is the image that pops into my head.  I love it!
