Playing with my imaginary friends in real life

I’m off to NYC for BlogHer ‘10!

I wrote about it over at Mile High Mamas, and I can’t believe the time has come!

My flight leaves after noon on the 5th, jetting off into the future.  East Coasters live in the future…didn’t you know that?  On Sunday, I’ll fly the friendly skies back into the Mountain Time Zone, wondering where all the time went and how it got there so quickly.

I can’t wait to experience BlogHer for the first time!
I can’t wait to meet my imaginary friends in person.
I can’t wait to see some locals halfway across the country.
I can’t wait to relax in a room all by myself. (No offense to my wonderful husband and awesome daughter, of course.  Do you think they’ll even notice that I’m gone?)
I can’t wait to get up close and personal with Lady Liberty.
I can’t wait to learn new things about writing, blogging, and social media.

Bottom line?  I just can’t wait.

If you’re interested in taking a peek at what I’m doing, look to the left side of the blog and scroll down to the Twitter application, or check out my twitter page directly.  I won’t be updating the blog or Facebook until my return, but I do hope to use twitter to capture and share my adventures.

…and I’ll be sure to tell you all about it when I return!

Random Thoughts via Twitter

Throughout the day, I write down various random thoughts. I collect and compile them to use as motivation for future blog topics. Recently, I’ve noticed that Twitter is a good recording device for these things as well.

What follows is a smattering of Random Thoughts I’ve recorded via Twitter from the past week or so. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen these already. If you don’t follow Twitter, the Perfectionist in me wants to be sure you keep in mind that proper spelling, punctuation and grammar are often victims to the 140-character limit of Twitter. ;)

Enjoy!

  • There is something ironic & surreal about confirming our Home Dairy Delivery order via the Internet.
  • I know I put it somewhere…now, if I could just remember what it was.
  • Are you busy tomorrow? I’ve got my city’s 500th anniv 2 plan, my wedding 2 arrange, my wife 2 murder & Guilder to frame for it. I’m swamped! [Super-duper bonus points to the people who recognize this reference!] :)
  • As I look around the dinner table tonight, I realize that we are all happy, healthy and here. I want to hold on to this moment forever.
  • Claire screamed from her room, “Look guys!” Fearing the worst, I braced myself. She’d CLEANED it. Not sure my heart can take such a shock.

Top 10 Random Thoughts Via Twitter

  • Claire is pretending to be my doctor. She just gently touched my ribs and said, “Yes. You’re right. Your abs is killing you.”
  • You know it’s bad when you ask what your preschooler is doing, and rather than answer, she runs to the time-out corner.
  • What they neglect to tell u is that the breathing exercises you learn 4 labor r used more AFTER u give birth than before. *cleansing breath*
  • 3yr old just asked if she could find her dream from last night on YouTube. Not yet, sweetie. Not yet.
  • Claire & I have to run an errand, and I’m so tempted to just keep going and not come back until the street lights come on.
  • 3-year old just gave turn-by-turn directions on the way home. And, she was right. You can take “GPS” off my wish list now.
  • After refitting & purchase of new bras, tried them out at jumpy Pump It Up place. Victoria’s Secret hasn’t let me down yet. Quite literally.
  • Yes, I am the kind of person who would write, “Make a To Do List” on my list just so I could cross it off. Is there something wrong w/that?
  • Can I be naughty so that I can have a 35-minute time-out?
  • The more I do, the longer my ToDoList gets. If I wasn’t such a big fan of ToDoLists & irony, I’d be pretty upset. I’m oddly giddy right now.
